Guidelines of the Royal Government of Cambodia on additional measures to further manage the impact on key economic sectors in the context of the crisis, rehabilitation, and promotion of Cambodia’s economic growth during and after the COVID-19 crisis
On 28 June 2021, the Royal Government of Cambodia issued a press release on government’s guideline on additional measures to further manage the impacts on key economic sectors in the context of the crisis, rehabilitation, and promotion of Cambodia’s economic growth during and after the COVID-19 crisis.
The condition of COVID-19 continues to evolve alarmingly through the new COVID-19 variant, which has added socio-economic pressure to many countries, including Cambodia. The “20 February 2021 Event”, which continues to prolong and expand the scope, urges the government to pay high attention to monitor and take strict measures. The Royal Government of Cambodia has decided to release additional measures (ninth round) to (1) reduce the impact on socio-economic status and the risk of COVID-19 transmission into the community on a large scale, (2) renewal of previously issued measures, (3) continue to introduce and implement economic supports and recovery measures, and (4) continue to support the daily lives of poor and vulnerable families through cash support programs. The measures taken by the government include (1) assisting the garment-textile, footwear, travel products, bags, and tourism sectors, (2) assisting the aviation sector, (3) assisting the transport and logistics sectors, and (4) subsidy programs for poor and vulnerable families.
